Installing, Sanding & Refinishing Hardwood

Sanding Skill

Floor sanding is an art, and we have a team of gifted artists who can bring your floors back to their original glory. Many of our clients had stated that the floors look better than when they were new. We have the skill, specialized machines, and decades of experience to get it done properly & professionally.

Dust Containment Process

We care about your home and your family’s indoor air quality. Sandmasters continually invests in the industry’s most advanced dust collection equipment. This ensures our staining and finishing are non-invasive to other living spaces, and allows us to complete your project with the least amount of inconvenience to you. Additionally, we tape off cabinets and hang up plastic dust barriers to the adjacent areas. Our service technicians thoroughly clean up the job site before they leave.

Refinishing

Sandmasters stands ready to keep your hardwood floors looking like new whenever you need us for routine maintenance or more extensive repairs. A hardwood floor needs attention when the original finish shows signs of wear but before it has worn down to the bare wood, in which case we would recommend sanding and refinishing.

The re-coat process takes approximately one or two days for an average size job and includes a light buffing, cleaning, and the application of additional coats of finish. This non-invasive process will restore your floors to their original beauty. Recoating protects your hardwood investment, prolonging its lifespan and beauty—and it’s dust free.

Optional Instant Cure System

The traditional coating and sealing process uses solvent-based products that may harm the environment, have potent odors, and take several days or weeks to cure completely. Achieving maximum hardness can take 7 to 14 days using a catalyzed coating and up to 30 days for a non-catalyzed finish. If a floor is exposed to traffic before it’s fully cured, premature scuffing, scratching, and wear can occur, requiring more maintenance and expense.

Our “Instant Cure System” offers something that traditional finishes cannot. Using photoinitiators and ultraviolet light, a photochemical reaction crosslinks the molecules. We can harden the finish into a protective coating that is extremely durable and easy to clean, curing the final coat of finish instantly after drying.

Installation

When it comes to flooring, you have a lot of choices. Real wood flooring is an excellent decision. When impeccably installed and maintained, hardwood floors bring a lifetime of lasting beauty to your home. In addition to expert installation, homeowners also look for expert advice. There are myriad species of traditional hardwood to consider. Our staff will show you all your options and help you select the wood that works with your family’s lifestyle and your home’s design.

Expertise

Because your wood flooring will last the lifetime of your home, it must be installed correctly. The Sandmasters team of installation professionals has decades of experience. We meticulously follow—and often exceed–the installation guidelines set by the National Wood Flooring Association. The NWFA organization sets the industry bar high for the standards that include the many technical details involved in a proper installation. We have been fully accredited members of the NWFA since 1988.
